Delgado supports H.R.8

I went to another one of Rep. Delgado’s town halls on Saturday.

I did not get picked to ask a question this time either.  As Delgado listed off the things he has done so far he did say he supported the universal background check bill, H.R.8.

The meeting itself was very educational.  Anyone who wants to know why John Faso, and the Senate Republicans, lost should go to one of them as it will be obvious what their problems are.

I was a guest on James Kaleda’s podcast Out of Order:

Rensselaer Co. Resolution P/47/19

The Rensselaer County Legislature will take up Resolution P/47/19 expressing their opposition to so-called “Red Flag” gun control laws at tomorrow’s regular meeting of the county legislature.

Given the state legislature already passed A-2689/S-2451 a couple of weeks ago this is little more than a political stunt by the GOP-majority county legislature.

Singas’ advocating for mandatory storage

More evidence that at some point during this legislative session the state legislature is going to take up one of the mandatory firearms storage bills:

Second Amendment Guarantee Act

Rep. Chris Collins has reintroduced his “Second Amendment Guarantee Act“:

“… The Collins bill would prevent states from implementing any regulations on weapons that are more restrictive than what is required by federal law. Passage of the bill would void most of the language included in New York’s Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 signed into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo …”

Current bill is H.R.1072 with Tom Reed, Elise Stefanik and Lee Zeldin as co-sponsors.

It went nowhere in the House last session and did not have a Senate companion.  I do not see it doing any better this time around.  It’s primarily purpose is public relations for Collins.
