No, it isn’t.

Cruz going for gun votes

Ted Cruz is planning to run a pro-gun ad during football championships this weekend.

I despise Phil Robertson, but the ad could still be helpful in parts of the country in getting people to turn out and vote for him. I much prefer this SuperPAC ad done in support of Cruz:

Ted Cruz on New York

Ted Cruz makes a comment to The Donald about his “New York [City] values.”

Elitist assholes are offended.  Regular people agree with what Cruz said, just maybe not so happy that a non-New Yorker said it.

Governor Cuomo, who told people who don’t agree with him to leave the state, demands an apology.

Cruz gives it to him.  The only thing that was missing was FUAC!

Cuomo’s appointmnet

A recent appointment by Gov. Cuomo includes:

“… John J. McCarthy has been appointed special advisor for agency operations and initiatives at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where he previously served as deputy press secretary. Most recently, Mr. McCarthy was a senior advisor at Everytown for Gun Safety …”

He seems highly qualified to run that agency into the ground.

Legislative Report #11 is now online.

No emotion

Bernie Sanders is giving Hillary more grief than expected so she just released this gun control ad:

I don’t see this as being very helpful to her campaign. Not so much what she is saying, but how. It is just bad.

Bloomberg polling

According to CNN:

“Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg commissioned a poll last month to see how he would fare as a third-party candidate against Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the respective Democratic and Republican presidential front-runners, a source close to the former mayor told CNN Saturday night. The source said Bloomberg, a billionaire media executive, commissioned the poll after watching the meteoric rise of political newcomer Trump over the past six months …”

I’m having a hard time deciding which one is more offensive: Bloomberg, Clinton or Trump.  Image a race between them.  Why not just wait for the Fourth Horseman to arrive and get it all over with?

“… But the source did not discuss the poll’s findings …”

I’m guessing it wasn’t favorable.  What would he bring to the table that these two already haven’t?

Don’t wait, leave now

One of the most detestable people in Albany, Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, announced she is not running for re-election this fall.

However, there is a rumor she will be running instead for the opening Congressional seat being vacated by the equally obnoxious Steve Israel.

Terrorism not gun control

I was interviewed by North Country Public Radio yesterday.  Despite audio problems they were able to use some of what I said:

“… Specifically, the last shooting out in California, the president was trying to talk about guns because he didn’t want to talk about Islamic terrorists,” Rieper said …”

Which is true:

“… the Obama administration was still hesitating Friday to declare that the massacre was terrorism. “It’s far too early to reach that kind of conclusion. We’re still learning exactly what was motivating these individuals, what steps they took to carry out this terrible crime,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters …”

CD-19 Meet the Candidates

Ulster Co. Sportsmen hosted a Meet the Candidates event yesterday for the opening CD-19 seat.  All five declared candidates were invited.  The four Republicans showed up while the one Democrat did not.  The Times Herald-Record gave just under full page coverage in today’s edition.
